How to download from TikTok
TikTok hands out two link formats for the same video: a short redirect from the app, and a full URL containing the creator handle and a numeric video ID. Both identify the same clip. Alongside ordinary video, TikTok also hosts photo-mode posts, which are image slideshows with a soundtrack and no video file at all.

Tap the share arrow. While the video is playing in the app, tap the arrow on the right-hand side of the screen to open the share sheet.
Choose Copy link. It sits in the row of icons. What lands on your clipboard is a short link - vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com followed by a few characters - which redirects to the real address.
Or copy the full URL on the web. On a computer, open the video and read the address bar: the domain, the creator handle with an @, then /video/ and a long number. That number is the video ID.
Paste either form here. Short links and full URLs are both accepted. Pasting the whole share message with its text around the link is fine too.

Worth knowing
Tips for TikTok links
- Short links are friendlier to share; full URLs are better for anything technical, because they are readable and do not depend on a redirect still resolving.
- The parameters after the question mark record which app and device the share came from. They can be removed safely.
- Creators can turn off downloads and sharing for individual videos. When they have, the option disappears from your share sheet too - that is a choice worth respecting.
